AORN Launches New Human Factors Study in Five Hospitals

In May 2005, AORN announced that Kimberly-Clark Healthcare had contributed to the AORN Foundation to fund the Human Factors project which is a five-site pilot study on the effectiveness of human factor training in the operating room. SaferHealthcare, the healthcare division of the Human Performance Training Institute (HPTI), partnered with AORN to conduct the operational aspects of the pilot project, training members of the surgical team in five diverse hospitals throughout the nation.
